Stuck Inside a Mobile with the Memphis Blues again

I never thought when I got pregnant that I would do things "normally". The baby showers and belly touching and Lamaze class are all a little much for me. My definitely less than normal pregnancy experience has left little time for all that regardless of how I felt anyway.

But here I lay in my bed with my Sony noise cancelling headphones propped on my belly, exposing my son (that's so weird to say) to the glorious complexities of Bob Dylan. It may be a cliche, but his little nudges and squirms make it entirely worth it. And I'll be damned if my kid doesn't have good taste in music even from the womb.

Home Sweet Home

So today was the start of moving day, after several weeks of bullshit dealing with the potential landlord of the house we were gonna move into, we decided to tell him where he can go and found a small but nice duplex. Even though it's less than half the size of the other place, I think that Myste, Baby and I are going to be pretty happy here. Now all we need is shit to go in it!

"I'm excited to dress him. I'm still not sure if I want to hold him"

Babies are a funny business. Never in my life have I ever been asked more personal questions about my reproductive parts. And why is it suddenly okay for strangers to touch me? Or ask about my boobs?

Still, I'm reveling in it. It's an unusual situation (holy understatement) and I'm soaking up as much as I can.

Here's a rundown of the situation so far. Turns out, I have a hormone deficiency. So when I got pregnant, my body kinda didn't know what was going on. I had NO "symptoms". after finding out that I was about 31 weeks along, my doctor gave me a hormone shot that jump started things and clued my body into what was going on. I literally woke up the next morning and I was preggo. Like, smuggling a beach ball pregnant. And I could feel baby rumpusing around in there. Any idea how weird it is to all of sudden be aware of a 4 pound creature inhabiting your innards? Real weird.

Regardless, baby boy is doing great! We had an ultrasound today and he's about five pounds 3 ounces and seemingly perfectly healthy, which is the most important part.

So enough about my uterus and reproductive system. I thought this was the best way for us to keep all of our friends and family up north in the loop on what's going on. We'll try to post pictures and updates as often as we can!
